Amanda Hernandez, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Hernandez is a veterinarian at Glenwood Village Pet Hospital, joining us in June 2014. She grew up in Indiana and attended Purdue University. After completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. Hernandez returned to her alma mata to pursue her veterinary studies, earning a DVM degree in 2014. During vet school, Dr. Hernandez worked with Chicago's Shedd Aquarium, the Dolphin Research Center in Marathon, FL and a zoo in Lafayette, IN which sparked her love of exotic species, birds, reptiles and all sorts of other non-traditional pets. Her other interests include cardiology and neurology.
In her spare time, Dr. Hernandez enjoys reading, traveling, and running. When not busy with one of those hobbies, she is relaxing with her two sons, Emery and Max. She has two cats, Keekee and Bean, a Siberian Husky, Kayavak, and two crested geckos, Ketchup and Mustard.
